Can I Trade Widgets With Other Users?
Not yet, but it’s coming. Trading is one of the features we’re most excited about, and it’s actively being built. Here’s what we know so far and why it’s going to change how collecting feels.
Why Add Trading at All?
Because collecting without trading is only half the experience.
Think about it. You pull a blindbox and get a duplicate of something you already have. Right now, that’s a dead end. With trading, that duplicate becomes leverage. Someone else wants it. You want what they’ve got. Now there’s a conversation happening.
That’s how collecting worked when we were kids. You didn’t just accumulate stickers or cards – you swapped them. The best part wasn’t always the pull. It was finding someone who had the one you’d been chasing and figuring out what it’d take to get it.
We’re bringing that same energy to your Home Screen.
How Will Trading Work?
We’re still finalizing the details, so we won’t promise specifics that might shift. But the core idea is straightforward: you’ll be able to send widgets from your collection to another user, and they’ll send one back.
It won’t be a marketplace with price tags. It’s trading – direct swaps between people. That keeps it personal, the way collecting should feel.
We’ll share the exact mechanics closer to launch. If you’re collecting now, you’re already building a library that’ll matter when trading opens up.
What Does This Mean for My Collection?
It means every widget you own carries more weight.
That rare pull you landed? Someone’s going to want it. That duplicate sitting in your collection? It’s not dead weight anymore – it’s a bargaining chip. Even common widgets have value when someone else needs one to finish a series.
Trading also adds a layer of motivation that goes beyond aesthetics. There’s the creative side, building a Home Screen that looks exactly how you want. But there’s also the collector side, the quiet thought of “this might actually be worth something.” Both of those get stronger when trading enters the picture.
Will Rare Widgets Be More Valuable?
That’s kind of the point. Rarity already matters in how a collection feels. You know which of your widgets were hard to get. Trading makes that tangible. When someone offers you three commons for one rare, you’ll feel it.
We’re not building a speculative economy here. But scarcity plus demand plus the ability to swap – that naturally creates a sense of value. Your collection stops being just a gallery and starts being something with real weight behind it.
Is There a Community Around This?
It’s already forming. People are sharing setups, comparing pulls, keeping track of what they’ve collected. Trading is going to accelerate all of that.
When you can swap with someone, you’ve got a reason to talk to them. You’ve got a reason to show what you have. The collection becomes social in a way that just posting screenshots can’t match. It’s the difference between admiring someone’s shelf and actually sitting down to trade with them.
We’re building 24QW to support that kind of community. Trading is a big piece of it.
When Is It Coming?
Soon. We don’t have an exact date to share yet, but trading is a priority and development is underway. The best way to stay in the loop is to keep collecting – you’ll want a solid library when the feature drops.
